Pink has defended herself after she was pictured taking her children to the beach despite postponing her Sydney concert due to sickness.
The Raise Your Glass hitmaker was due to perform in the Australian city on Friday (03Aug18), but announced she would have to reschedule the show as she was battling an upper respiratory tract infection.
However, she was later snapped by paparazzi while laying on a beach in Byron Bay with her seven-year-old daughter Willow, and after they were published online, Pink took to Instagram to explain herself, insisting to fans that she is genuinely sick.
"I scheduled this tour meticulously, trying to do what was best for my children, while also putting on the best and most physically demanding and beautiful show of my life," she wrote. "This break in Byron has been scheduled since 2017, as a way to get outside the hotel and the winter and have some time with my children."
She added that the paparazzi pictures don't show her going to the doctors twice in two days while in Byron, her friends entertaining Willow while she lays down on the beach, and her taking a multitude of medication, including antibiotics and steroids.
"You can think whatever you want, it’s your right, but I have never taken advantage of any one in my entire life," she continued. "I have never f**ked off while disrespecting hard working people who spend money to come see me play. I have never phoned in a single tour, I have an impeccable record for not cancelling.
"I’m doing the absolute best I can, and you can believe it or not. I will see everyone tomorrow whether I’m better or not, and the postponed show will be rescheduled. As I said, I’m sorry to the real fans who this situation has affected. Onwards and upwards."
Pink will kick off the first of her nine shows at Qudos Bank Arena as part of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour on Saturday.
